There is no age limit to hypnotherapy practise, you could even continue practising after retirement age if you wanted to.

Why train with the WFH?

The World Federation of Hypnotherapists have been training students since 1981. We are a long established professional organisation, a democratic not-for-profit organisation managed by a committee of professional hypnotherapists for professional hypnotherapists. The Committee comprises of Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer, the Sub-Committee consists of Publicity Officer and Social Secretary, so you can be assured that when you train with us you are supported by a team of professionals and not merely one or two individuals operating for profit.

Also we are one of only a handful of training schools that provide a comprehensive library of CD recordings to support your training (30 in total) because we know that if you are attending 20 workshops over a 12 month period by the time you get to the 15th or 16th you may need to refresh information delivered in earlier workshops, the recordings are absolutely ideal for this.

Would I be able to secure insurance?

Yes, we recommend all students obtain insurance when they begin training, you would simply send our insurers a completed proposal form and the fee, and you would receive an insurance certificate from them.

How much is the insurance premium currently?

Students insurance costs just £35 per year for £1,000,000 cover. Once you qualify as a professional hypnotherapist the premium costs just £46.50 per year for £5,000,000 cover.

How much could I expect to earn as a Therapist?

Hypnotherapists currently earn an average of £50 per hour, although in some parts of the UK therapists earn more, in some parts a little less.

Would I have professional support after I qualify?

Yes, we are always here to support and advise through our practical workshops and WFH private group/forum.

What if I begin training but can't complete it?

We realise that sometimes unforeseen circumstances can interfere with the best laid plans so we give you up to and including Weekend 2 to decide whether you can fully commit to the training course, if you decide you cannot continue at any time during those first 4 workshops you will simply pay for your training up to that point, if you discontinue your training after weekend 2 the full training course fee becomes payable minus previous payments made.

What happens if I don't pass my training course

Students must attain a 70% mark or higher to pass their training course, (this is well within the capabilities of any individual with average or higher intelligence). Course tutor Alan will do everything he can to coach students through to a pass. In the unlikely event that a student fails their course they may retake the exams the following year (after attending the workshop(s) again) for a nominal fee of £750.

No, we teach you everything you need to know about hypnotherapy.

Do WFH members get the opportunity to meet?

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a totally natural state of mind that we each experience every day of our lives. The state of Hypnosis is a mid-way point between being awake and being asleep and can be readily identified when having a ‘lie in’ on a Sunday morning, it is that very pleasant dreamy-drowsy state of mind in which you can just allow yourself to ‘drift’ while feeling deeply relaxed. It is also very similar to the feeling you have when soaking in a warm bath or lying on a beach in the sun, where you may feel detached and dreamy, knowing that you could open your eyes at any time but feeling just too comfortable to bother. Hypnosis is a state of mind that is conducive to deep physical and mental relaxation and unlike drugs is not addictive or habit forming.

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a process of applying, while in Hypnosis, therapeutic suggestion/intervention to replace those negative elements that may be ‘driving’ the particular behaviour or problem and therefore allowing a more beneficial positive outcome to emerge. In the state of Hypnosis the ‘Conscious’ mind recedes, allowing the ‘Subconscious’ mind to come to the fore and in this deeply relaxed state therapeutic suggestion is greatly amplified.

Can anyone be hypnotised and is it dangerous?

Almost everyone can be hypnotised providing they want to be and they understand the instructions given......It isn’t dangerous providing the subject is working with an experienced professional.

Can hypnosis be misused in the wrong hands?

Yes it can, Rasputin was a typical example but then drugs can either be prescribed for common good by our GP’s or sold on our streets.
